A simple room-by-room method
- Stand in the room, garage, or driveway where the items are staged (or will be).
- Count the major furniture and appliance pieces.
- Add roughly 20% to account for the boxes, bags, and odd smaller pieces you're likely forgetting.
- Match your count against the tier table above.
One major item on its own is almost always an ⅛ truck. A single bedroom's worth of furniture is typically a ¼ truck. A full garage runs ½ to ¾, and a whole apartment or multi-room cleanout is usually a full truck.
